About the Novas

Andrew, Brian and Don are all accomplished musicians, songwriters and producers leaving their mark on music for over two decades now.   As a trio, they have written, produced and released two albums including their self-titled debut record in 2014 and Travel Mercies in 2021.   Their music has been featured in international films, received a top 10 album of the year award in Europe and been heard throughout the US. 

Andrew started his career with the folk rock duo Billy Pilgrim in the early ‘90s.   He and partner Kristian Bush released a pair of albums for Atlantic Records (their 1994 self-titled debut and the 1995’s Bloom) earning multiple Top 5 singles on the AAA charts, rotation on VH1, and a reputation as dynamic performers traveling throughout the US and Europe.  Andrew has also released multiple solo albums including the widely acclaimed, Curios, in 2011. In 2020, Billy Pilgrim re-released their album, Time Machine, along with two pre-internet albums Words Like Numbers and St. Christopher’s Crossing. 

Brian started his career in the Athens, GA music scene then moved onto the stages of Atlanta, GA as a founding member of the regional favorites, The Tastemakers.   During this period, he shared the stage with many National and International artists including Cheap Trick, Meat Loaf, The Romantics, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, and Billy Joel’s band.  He was also a founding member of The Highlanders out of Athens, GA where he met Andrew while recording their debut album. 

Don is a two-time Grammy winning producer and engineer with over 150 albums to his credit.   He has worked with the likes of Sister Hazel, The Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, Third Day, Billy Pilgrim and more.  Artists that Don has worked with have collectively sold over 15 million albums, been nominated for 85 major music awards, and had 34 #1 billboard hits and charted singles. He is also one half of the group, The Ormewoods, which released their debut album in 2016.
